Fantome

Fantome beer

Have I mentioned how much I love Fantome beer? It’s a Belgian beer, made in a tiny brewery by Dany Prignon, who keeps his recipes secret. It’s a Saison, one of my favorite styles of beer. Here’s a page with a description and some info: Beeradvocate. The brewery releases a standard Saison, but also several different variations, each with its own spice blend. There are releases for each season, and  here you can see Michelle and I were enjoying the Printemps (Spring) release. When the bottle opened, the room filled with the scent of tart green apples. Tasting it, the apples were still there, but mostly it tastes like a big bunch of fresh-cut flowers. So lush and tasty, mmmmm. Fantome is not always easy to find, and usually fairly pricy, but it’s sooo worth it.
